Introducing… GoTeleWork, a platform for remote workers interested in exploring global opportunities from the comfort of their home
The Mission
To create a responsive app that simplifies the remote job search by connecting global talent with inclusive employers. GoTeleWork is designed to empower users to find flexible, location-friendly roles by filtering opportunities based on their current location, preferred job destination, and job type. The goal is to bridge the gap between skilled remote workers and companies that embrace international hiring, promoting accessibility, diversity, and meaningful employment across borders.
1
Users often find jobs labeled as “remote” only to discover later that they are restricted to specific countries or regions, leading to wasted time and effort.
The Duration
The project was completed over a 1-month period, including research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.
User Research - Summary
To better understand the challenges remote job seekers face, we conducted user interviews and surveys with individuals from diverse geographic regions actively seeking remote work. Participants expressed frustration with job platforms that advertised remote roles but later revealed geographic restrictions or lacked clear location filters. Many users also cited the difficulty of identifying companies that genuinely support global or multi-country hiring. Insights from the research highlighted a strong need for a transparent, user-friendly platform that streamlines remote job discovery based on real eligibility, location preferences, and job types. These findings informed the development of GoTeleWork’s location-aware filtering system and commitment to featuring companies that embrace international talent.
The Problem
Despite the rise in remote work opportunities, many job seekers struggle to find roles that are truly open to candidates from their specific countries or regions. Traditional job boards often lack proper filters for location flexibility or fail to highlight companies that hire globally. This leads to frustration, wasted time, and missed opportunities. Remote workers need a centralized platform that curates verified, globally accessible job listings tailored to their preferences and eligibility.
2
Many job platforms do not allow users to filter jobs based on both their current location and the employer’s location preference, making it difficult to identify truly accessible opportunities.
Problem Statement
Remote job seekers like Elena struggle to find legitimate, location-flexible opportunities because existing job platforms often hide geographic restrictions and lack precise filters, leading to frustration, wasted time, and missed chances for global talent to connect with inclusive employers.
Paper Wireframe
The paper wireframe outlines the core user journey within GoTeleWork, focusing on simplicity and intuitive navigation. It begins with the login page, followed by a personalized search setup where users specify their current location, preferred job locations, and desired job types, with options to select multiple entries for flexibility. This wireframe prioritizes a seamless, user-friendly experience that empowers job seekers to efficiently find and apply to remote opportunities that match their preferences.
Digital Wireframe
The digital wireframe translates the initial paper sketches into an interactive, screen-based prototype, showcasing the visual layout and core functionalities of GoTeleWork. It guides users through a streamlined experience, from logging in and personalizing their job search by location and job type, to browsing sortable search results. Users can explore detailed job postings with clear information on role requirements and hiring locations, proceed to submit applications seamlessly, and receive confirmation of their submissions. This digital prototype emphasizes usability, responsiveness, and clarity, laying the foundation for a smooth and engaging user journey.
Lo-Fi Prototype
The lo-fi prototype presents a simplified, low-fidelity version of GoTeleWork’s user interface, focusing on core structure and flow without detailed visuals. It enables early testing of key functionalities—such as personalized search filters, job result sorting, and the application process—allowing for quick feedback on usability and navigation. By prioritizing layout and user interactions over aesthetics, this prototype helps identify potential improvements before moving to higher-fidelity designs, ensuring a user-centered approach throughout development.
Mockups
The mockups provide a high-fidelity visual representation of GoTeleWork’s interface, showcasing detailed design elements such as color schemes, typography, and imagery. These visuals bring the app to life by demonstrating the polished look and feel users will experience, while maintaining the functional flow established in earlier prototypes. The mockups serve as a critical step in aligning design aesthetics with usability goals, helping stakeholders and developers visualize the final product before development begins.
Hi-Fi Prototype
The hi-fi prototype delivers a fully interactive, near-final version of GoTeleWork’s user interface, combining polished visuals with functional elements to simulate the actual user experience. It allows for realistic navigation through key features and enables comprehensive usability testing. This prototype bridges the gap between design and development, providing a clear blueprint for the final product while allowing stakeholders to experience the app as users will.

General job boards often present a high volume of listings without proper categorization by job type or eligibility, making it hard for users to find relevant roles quickly and efficiently.
